Maple Town Fansub!

Well folks it's happening! I'm happy to announce that I and the Square Subs fansubbing group will be subbing all of the Maple Town anime as well as Palm Town. We've already got the first ep done, and it's available anywhere you might find fansubs (not sure if it's okay to post links to that kind of thing here).

This thread can be used to discuss the fansub itself or the anime itself as folks watch through along with our releases!

I'll be updating the thread whenever a new episode comes out. I'll hopefully be doing 1-2 a week. Yeah it'll take a while to get through both series, but it'll be a fun journey!

I'm so excited to hear that! Are you by chance basing the translation off the English dub?

Nope, I haven't seen the English dub. I'm doing it all just off the Japanese version, though I do look at English fansites to confirm what some of the names are when I'm not sure what the spelling would be (I wasn't sure if it was Patty or Patti at first, for example).

This makes me extremely happy! Thank you VERY much for your efforts. I've always wanted to know how the story continued beyond the few episodes we got in the USA via Nickelodeon.

Yep! Still working on ep 3. Unfortunately I can’t guarantee weekly releases just due to not always having a ton of time to dedicate to translating. But I intend to work on it whenever I can for the foreseeable future.

I'm about to upload my french fansub for the first OAV. I'll post it here also, in case any french fan comes by.

About this project for translating the whole series, how come i was having the same idea at the same time ? lol But i tried and it's harder than i thought unfortunately...My boyfriend will translate the last episode for the S2 from arabic, maybe that won't be very accurate but it's better than nothing.
I wanted to let you know that i have access to french episodes, a lot of the S2 episodes are available in french, and i have some from the 1st season too, i'll have more soon because i sent my VHS with other episodes on it, so they can be digitalized ! Maybe i'll also have access to other episodes that aren't online, from a french forum.

I wanted to contribute to your project, in case french is easier for you to translate, or can be a nice complementary material to have, along with the japanese episodes...
I'd gladly work with you so we can fansub this series in english and french faster ! I'll transcript any episode you want if this can help you, and will give my help to translate them ^^

Episode 3 is up! This one took forever! The script was quite a bit more dense than previous episodes, and I had a business trip to Japan and got violently ill which cost me a few weeks. But I still managed to pull it together. Hopefully future eps will go more smoothly.

Very late, but I just found out that the person that was doing it for them left. It didn’t seem clear at the time if someone else would continue it or not, but at this point, I wouldn’t count on it.
