I think german dubs are sometimes better than original. In this Cartoon I can't say this, because there is no german version. PS. I think you want to change your place with the place of the rabbit, right?

But in all seriousness, I dislike it when dubs have cuts/scene alterations, deletes/replaces music and dialogue changes. However most international dubs aren't that bad, the worst is by far the Saban English dub which have tons of all the things I mentioned. Music changes are the one thing I won't abide, unless the replacement is pretty freakin' awesome. Video games losing their intro themes in the U.S. used to be standard procedure, and there's really only one case I can think of where this worked out: Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner. Yes, "Pray" is the game's overarching leitmotif, but "Danger" fits the visuals better. (And yes, I'm well aware the game's proper title in the U.S. is "Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga".) Changing the music changes the feel of everything. You can verify this yourself by listening to this track: homestuck.bandcamp.com/track/black...while reading this page: squee.icanhascheezburger.com/For a more practical example, my first real experience noticing this was in Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz. In the original OVA version, the Mariemaia Army's invasion of Earth is set to "White Reflection", and the following scene of Heero recovering Wing Gundam Zero Custom is mostly silent apart from "Battlefield" playing at the end. In the movie cut, however, "Last Impression" plays through the invasion scene, and it doesn't stop when the scene cuts. The song ties the two scenes together into one, and as much as I like "Battlefield", the end result is indescribably more epic. I've heard that 4Kids' dub of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's is actually pretty good, but there's one thing that keeps me from giving it a chance: the knowledge that nothing from the original soundtrack will be in there. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfyo9DbstaoIt's a safe bet that you'll have no idea what's going on if you watch this video...but even so, the music makes the whole thing freaking incredible.

I fully agree with all of the above. In anime, the music and animation are often made to work together, so when the music is replaced it tends to become very awkward to watch. Like images, music is an universal language, it doesn't need to be "translated" in order to be understood. And yet, American dubbing companies keep spending time and money on fixing what isn't broken.
Although I don't watch 5D's, I have no problems comprehending that scene. I have watched tons of similar shows, so... xD

Fortunately, it's not really the case anymore. When it happens, it's usually the fault of obstinate Japanese companies, funnily enough - Fullmetal Alchemist (the first series) used Ready Steady Go for most of its run on Adult Swim because Sony (IIRC) demanded the exposure, and the DVD release of Zeta Gundam is missing the original OP/ED themes completely because of some rights snafu.
