It seems very fitting that 2011 is both the year of the rabbit, and also the 25th anniversary for Maple Town. If this isn't the perfect time for Toei to finally release a DVD box set I don't know when is. I won't get my hopes to high, but maybe, just maybe we will see SOMETHING.

Hello and Happy New Year to you live from France! delighted to join you on this forum. I always loved maple town story, since my 3 years I think I have seen and gone through all or nearly all the episodes! And I totally used my little characters! J e is a shame that the DVD boxes do not come out or the U.S. or in France! The first season was released in Spain so why not here! As Phillip said, for the 25th anniversary, they could make an effort! hope it's coming!

Maddeningly, it's not even available in Japan yet. Which is extra odd, as Toei is not known to play nice with foreign licensors, especially where DVD releases are concerned. Unless we're talking about Dragonball.
It's a shame that any hypothetical future U.S. release would probably either use the Saban dub (and thus only include a handful of episodes) or else be subtitled-only. I've spent years dreaming of my ideal English redub cast for the series, though nowadays I have to account for the fact that most of the really awesome dubs are by FUNimation.

Welcome to the forums, pampouic! Thank you for joining, and feel free to post any questions or thoughts on Maple Town that you may have!
A subtitled DVD release certainly wouldn't be anything to sneeze at, but I consider the likelyhood of that happening extremely low. It has always seemed to me like the toys were generally more popular than show (though I'm sure it helped fuel the popularity of the toys) in the west, while in Japan the opposite is true. That's why I'm hoping a Japanese DVD release is not completely unthinkable. But in the end, there are a lot of old, well-made anime that may have been very popular at the time of their release, but aren't considered to be profitable today. Maple Town is just one of these.
Atleast the Spanish DVD box set, and the re-release of the Hit Songs Collection on CD back in 2005, gives me a slight spark of hope.
