Good quality. But is it really raw? Or was converted? No such high quality that it was worth the money.

Hey guys, first post, American living in Japan, and have a little girl who I am looking to introduce Maple town type stuff to her soon for her b-day.
I really would like to show her the Maple Town cartoon IN ENGLISH but really cant find anything other than a few eps on Youtube. Does anyone have or know where I can get the eps in ENGLISH ? ( TORRENT ? ) Ive looked everywhere and cant find it.
The sylvania family cartoon ( is that a bad word here ? ) was horrible so I dont want to show her those, but the Maple Town animie ( from memory, my sisters were big into it ) was much much better
anyways thanks for the help

I first met the admin here on a Sylvanian Families forum, just FYI. Anyways. To my knowledge, what you can find on YouTube is the sum total (or thereabouts) of all the Maple Town episodes that were ever dubbed into English - and frankly, Saban in the 1980s wasn't any better than 4Kids is now. What we got was a butcher job. That's not to say I don't prefer English dubbed when possible, just that this tends in places towards "gross misrepresentation of the source material." Ideally, one of these days we'll get the whole darn show fansubbed, and you can show her that. I'd do the whole thing myself, but...well, it'd take more time and effort than I have to invest. ^_^; But I'm eager, if our admin gets the ball rolling, to help edit any translated scripts before subbing. Accuracy is all well and fine, but I'd prefer something that, you know, sounds like dialogue...

Good quality. But is it really raw? Or was converted? No such high quality that it was worth the money. The original files were in windows media format, and they were intended for viewing on your computer. The quality is at least better than on the Spanish DVD boxset (of course it probably didn't help that they put all 52 episodes on 5 discs!) I think it's wonderful that you want to share Maple Town with your daughter! If it's the English dub you want, I recommend trying to get in touch with this person: www.freewebs.com/stuffilike/mapletown.htmI share Ryusui's dislike for the Saban English dub for its many cuts and unnecessary changes (as well the complete removal of the beautiful and atmospheric original soundtrack), but if your daughter only understands English and/or is not old enough to read subtitles, it may be the only option. The original still shines through, and even with the English dub, I would say it's a much better cartoon than the old Sylvanian Families one (which I don't think anyone here really hates, but it clearly lacks substance compared to Maple Town). Personally, I'm very thankful today that my country's dub was uncut and faithful to the original version (as is every dub I have seen EXCEPT for the English one), so I don't have any nostalgia for the Sabanized version. But unless your kid grows up to be a huge nerd like me, it may not become a problem. X) But I'm eager, if our admin gets the ball rolling, to help edit any translated scripts before subbing. Accuracy is all well and fine, but I'd prefer something that, you know, sounds like dialogue... I'm sure I can get something rolling eventually. The fact that we now have good quality raws of all 52 episodes is a good step forward.

Glad you enjoy them! They were ripped from the downloadable rental episodes on videx.jpAlthough, when the Japanese DVDs come out I might be able to make even better ones! =)

It seems the torrents are out of seeders. I'd like to download them, but it'll take too long. Is it possible to upload the episodes on Dailymotion or something? Or MEGA?

I wonder if there are any plans to sub these by anyone someday... Also what about Palm Town episodes?

I imagine those will happen once the DVDs are out. :3
As for subbing, well. I'd be willing to lend my services as an editor, if I could find a translator with better listening skills than I have.

I think it's time to share that DVDs already. I don't see a single point in some waiting for internet upload of 30 years old series.
