It's curious, but when Maple Town was broadcast in Spain, on television they said that was produced between Spain and Japan, and years later I followed hearing rumors about that Spain participated in the anime, some people have even told me that in the DVD's Spanish puts that Spain participated in the production, but I'm not sure about this because I haven't these DVD's. When I see the credits of the series I don't see nothing about Spain. Does anyone know anything about this? I've always wondered, and I think in this forum there are many experts who can clarify my question.

Perhaps they were referring to the recording of the Spanish dub, and the Spanish theme song only. I've not seen anything to indicate that any other country than Japan participated in its creation. I've read that Toei sometimes outsourced animation work to foreign studios, but only within Asia (where animation was a lot cheaper to produce compared to the west, before animation started to be made digitally). The writers, storyboarders, designers and artists all seem to have been Japanese, so I'm not sure what there would have been left for the Spanish to do.
Or maybe someone mixed up Maple Town with D'Artacan and Willy Fog, similar series, whose animations were Spanish-Japanese coproductions.

If you watch this video:
and go to minute 0:23, you can see that puts in spanish "una coproducción de Toei Animation Co. Ltd y Television Española SA" which means "a co-production of Toei Animation Co. Ltd and Television Española S.A.", I guess that this means that there was a co-production between the two countries, but the Japanese have not been acknowledged in which work has collaborated Spain. Since you comment me what Willy Fog, there are some characters that remind something to Willy Fog, but you have to look at the details.

That is certainly curious. If it's true I wonder what their contribution was.
