Hi all, I am Mel. I happened upon this forum very recently when I was googling MT (or maybe Sylvanians, can't exactly remember). I am sure some of you know me from the Sylvanian Families forum. I am mainly interested in the flocked Maple Town figures, seeing as that's how I found out about MT in the first place. I collect all sorts of flocked critters and love to display them on my website (see my signature). The Maple Town section is here.I am looking forward to chatting with everyone and to learning more about MT!

Welcome aboard! If you are a fan of flocked animal figures you will probably find something to your liking here!
Even if the Maple Town line is very limited compared to Sylvanians, I think there are some interesting things going on in it. Such as a large amount of region-specific releases (figures exclusive to Japan, North-America and Europe). The original Maple Town figures are very similar to Sylvanians in quality and style (a bit more cartoony faces perhaps, especially for Palm Town). In fact, I think the reason that the US baby molds were heavily modified, is that the Japanese ones were extremly similar to Sylvanian babies (the Tonka ones have much bigger feet for example).
Well, those are the type of nerdy tidbits you can expect to find here. Hope you enjoy your stay. =)
